Fourteen hours of destruction over the eastern United States
DailyClimate.org staff
The severe thunderstorms that swept across the eastern United States over the weekend left some 3 million Americans from Indiana to Washington, D.C. without power and killed 13, including two young boys who were hit by a falling tree as they camped with their family in New Jersey.
Here's a time-lapse radar image of the storm as it moves from Davenport, Iowa, to Richmond, Va., over the course of 14 hours Saturday.
